ABOUT US

Wayne County Arts Council membership is open to anyone who has an interest in the arts. Members include artists as well as people who appreciate and support the arts. The organization is managed by a Board of Directors and four Officers who are elected by our members on a yearly basis. WCAC was formed in 1994 to support and promote the arts in Wayne and the surrounding counties. It is organized and operated exclusively for public, charitable, educational, literary, and cultural purposes as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt corporation.

As a volunteer organization, we need your help to make things happen.

It's a great way to meet new people and to use your talents to plan, organize, and provide enriching art activities for our community.

Events Committee

Plans, organizes, and supports Arts Council events and fundraisers. Responsible for event logistics, volunteers, vendors, sponsorship support, and day-of operations.

Current Projects: Benefit Concert (October 2026), Dogwood Festival Arts Activities (March 2027)

Public Art Committee

Develops and manages public art projects that enhance Wayne County’s cultural identity. Works with community partners, artists, and property owners to create visible arts experiences.

Current Projects: Tiny Doors Jesup and future public art initiatives.

Education & Programs Committee

Creates educational opportunities that encourage artistic growth and community engagement. Develops workshops, demonstrations, and educational content for all ages.

Current Projects: Creative how-to video series and future classes/workshops.

Marketing & Social Media Committee

Promotes Arts Council activities through social media, photography, video, newsletters, and community outreach. Maintains a consistent public presence and shares the impact of council programs.

Current Projects: Promotion of all Arts Council initiatives and content creation.

Membership & Community Engagement Committee

Builds relationships with members, volunteers, artists, businesses, schools, and civic organizations. Focuses on membership recruitment, volunteer development, and community partnerships.

Fundraising & Sponsorship Committee

Identifies funding opportunities and cultivates financial support for Arts Council programs through sponsorships, donations, grants, and fundraising campaigns.
