Our mission is to support and elevate local artists, foster creative expression, and bring diverse cultural experiences to the forefront. Through events, and collaborations, we provide resources that empower both established and emerging artists to thrive.

Mission in Action
We are actively recruiting participants and members through a combination of outreach, invitation and participating in community activities.
Our strategy includes:

Inviting local artists across multiple disciplines to participate through existing relationships and networks

Sharing open calls for participation through social media, community boards, and local businesses

Partnering with schools, youth organizations (such as The Boys & Girls Club of the Altamaha Area), and community groups to involve younger creatives

Engaging small business owners and local leaders who have a vested interest in improving public spaces

Encouraging participation from individuals with a wide range of creative backgrounds, including those who may not traditionally identify as “artists".

Enhancing Our Community
Our community has growing momentum around public art and creative collaboration, with local artists and creatives actively contributing to murals, installations, and design-driven projects. Members of our team have direct experience in:

Designing and installing murals in both public and commercial spaces.

Transforming interiors and storefronts through visual design and styling.

Collaborating with local businesses to enhance how their spaces are experienced by the public.
In addition, there is a strong presence of creatives within our community, including

Visual artists, musicians, writers, and makers—who are eager to participate in projects that bring more visibility to local talent and support local business.

This program provides an opportunity to build on existing momentum and organize it into a more structured, community-wide effort.

Community Service
What a fantastic day at the Screven Back to School Bash!
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by to see us. There were lots of smiles, flowers, superheroes, butterflies, lions, and everything in between!
An extra special shoutout to our incredible face-painting team—Patsie Presnell, Kassey Durrence, Kameron Durrence, and Olliver Pearce—for keeping the line moving and creating so many amazing designs throughout the day. Especially Kameron for bringing out true skill among us amateurs! You all were absolute rockstars!
And a very special thank you to Kenya Fennell for organizing such a wonderful event and bringing our community together. We appreciate all of the hard work that goes into making days like this possible.
We love being able to support events that bring families together and celebrate our community. Thanks for letting the Wayne County Arts Council be a small part of such a great day!
